Sinj – Alka museum

Sinj – it is a small town located in the continental part of Dalmatia. It lies between four mountains which gives Sinj a sub mediterranean climate such as hotter summers and colder winters. The main attraction in Sinj is an old traditional tournament called Alka. It is a game which commemorates the victory over Turks in 1715, and it is held every first Sunday in August. The goal of the game is to thrust the spear through the small circle hanging above the ground while riding the horse in full galop.
